Building Financial Confidence Through Real Education

We started dremovaria in 2019 because too many Australians were making money decisions without understanding the basics. Five years later, we're still focused on that same mission.

Started From Personal Experience

Back in 2018, I watched three close mates struggle with basic budgeting. Good people with decent jobs who just never learned how money actually works. That's when it clicked—this wasn't about intelligence or ambition.

So we built dremovaria to teach the fundamentals that schools skip. Not investment strategies or wealth building schemes. Just practical skills for managing everyday finances without stress.

Our approach changed in early 2023 when we realized people learn better through scenarios than theory. Now our programs walk through real situations—rental applications, unexpected expenses, salary negotiations.

What Guides Our Teaching

These aren't corporate values written for a boardroom. They're the principles that actually shape how we run programs.

No Shame Zone

Everyone starts somewhere. Whether you're 18 or 48, asking basic questions is encouraged. We've seen professionals admit they don't understand tax brackets—and that's perfectly normal.

Real Situations

Theory doesn't stick. That's why our exercises use actual scenarios from Australian life—Centrelink forms, utility bills, superannuation statements. Things you'll genuinely encounter.

Practical Over Perfect

We'd rather you build a budget that's 80% accurate and actually use it than create a complex spreadsheet that sits untouched. Progress beats perfection every time.

Who Runs This Place

Two educators who got tired of watching talented people sabotage themselves over simple money mistakes. We've been teaching these concepts since 2019 and keep refining based on what actually works.

Callum Thornbury

Program Director

Former financial counselor who spent five years helping people escape debt cycles. Started dremovaria because prevention made more sense than crisis management. Still teaches two workshops monthly to stay connected with what participants actually need.

Piers Ledingham

Head of Curriculum

Taught high school commerce for eight years before joining dremovaria in 2021. Builds our learning modules and obsesses over making complex topics actually understandable. Recently redesigned our tax education segment after 40% of participants found it confusing.

How We Actually Teach

Our method evolved from watching what worked and ditching what didn't. Here's the framework we use across all programs.

1

Start With Your Reality

First session always begins with your actual financial situation. No hypotheticals or generic examples. We map out your income, expenses, and immediate concerns. Then build from there.

2

Learn Through Doing

You'll work through real documents—bank statements, bills, payslips. Build actual budgets using your numbers. Calculate genuine savings scenarios. Theory comes after practice, not before.

3

Test In Real Life

Between sessions, you apply what you learned. Try that budgeting method for two weeks. Call your insurance provider about that rate. Then come back and we troubleshoot what happened.

4

Build Sustainable Habits

By week ten, you're not following our system anymore—you've adapted it to fit your life. That's the goal. Skills that work for you specifically, not textbook perfection.

Still Learning Ourselves

Financial education keeps changing. New banking tools emerge, rental markets shift, tax rules update. We adjust our programs quarterly based on participant feedback and economic changes in Australia.

Our autumn 2025 intake starts September, with programs running through November. If you're ready to actually understand your money instead of just worrying about it, that's what we're here for.
